Lachlan Mcleod

Lachlan McLeod is an award-winning director and editor with a keen, intuitive approach to storytelling. Known for his deep respect and empathy for his subjects, Lachlan’s work examines unique perspectives with profound insight. His latest feature, Clean, delves into the life of Sandra Pankhurst and the compassionate yet challenging realm of trauma cleaning. This film was honoured with a Grand Jury Prize nomination at SXSW and was the Closing Night selection for the 70th Melbourne International Film Festival. It also won Best Documentary Programme (One-Off) at the 2023 Asian Academy Awards and was nominated for two awards at the 2022 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards, along with a Buzzie nomination. Lachlan’s previous works include Big in Japan (2018), a comedic documentary exploring fame through foreign celebrities in Japan, and Convenient Education (SBS, 2012), which investigates the struggles of student migrants in Australia.
